Professor Donna Cross is a Winthrop Professor at the University of Western Australia and was acknowledged as Australian of the Year in 2012. She is internationally renowned for her research into school health promotion intervention, and promoting the physical and mental wellbeing of children and young people. Her research has dealt with topics including bullying and cyber bullying, road safety, smoking cessation, and obesity prevention in young people. She has previously held the position of Professor of Child and Adolescent Health at Edith Cowan University, where she was also the Founding Director of the Child Health Promotion Research Centre.
Professor Cross has been acknowledged as having an ability to translate research evidence into policy and practice, and is one of 12 Ambassadors for the health and wellbeing of children and youth appointed by the WA Commissioner for Children and Young People.
